Tetro R&D innovates in the use of new materials and the creation of composite materials which can improve the performance of our customers’ products.

Engineering

Tetro engineering department is responsible for providing technical guidance and assessment in the design, development, production, and test engineering disciplines. It is the heart of the company which drives all processes related to the introduction of new products. It is responsible for the validation processes taken in order to guarantee top quality products; building bills of material (BOM) in the enterprise resource planning system (ERP); managing all product files and revisions using a dedicated product data management system (PDM)and is the executing body controlling all engineering change notice (ECN) processes within the system.

Prototyping

Sourcing & Procurement

Tetro Sourcing department is responsible for locating new suppliers; auditing and qualifying them; negotiating contracts and partnerships. Our sourcing department monitors supplier performance and works continuously to achieve large and sustainable cost reductions while simultaneously minimizing supply risk. The procurement department is responsible for the actual purchasing transactions. It ensures timely deliveries of the materials needed for production and continuously improves the related administrative and logistics processes to optimize efficiency.

Quality reports are maintained for all incoming materials documenting the testing performed; the testing regime is designed to guarantee adherence to Tetro requirements and standards.

Manufacturing

By using sophisticated, state of the art equipment, manufacturing executions systems (MES) and real time system (RTS) for scheduling - Tetro manufactures millions of high quality parts each month. All manufacturing processes are documented and analyzed. They can be repeated with a press of a button.

Tetro manufacturing utilizes lean production concepts. Wherever appropriate, production units adopt one piece flow and just in time (JIT) methods. All production units adopt goals for continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.

Assembly

Our assembly lines are optimized to fit each product and achieve the optimal balance of cost, quality and flexibility. We use intelligent lines with tailor made automation units, much of it designed at Tetro. The processes are controlled and monitored by a real time system. In order to maintain the confidentiality of our customers’ proprietary designs and know-how, all our assembly lines are access restricted zones.

QA

Tetro puts great emphasis on its quality management system. Using process validation and statistical process control (SPC). Our methodology prevents defects before they occur. We run periodic conformance audits of the operations of our quality management system.

For example: In the development stage of any plastic parts we define and carry a validation process. In this validation process we fix the boundaries of the injection machine parameters. Within these boundaries all parts produced are defect free and conform to all specifications. As a quality assurance activity, these injection machine parameters are being checked periodically during mass production.

QC

Tetro is using a quality control system that monitors all stages in the production of a product. The system includes 3 stages which are in-coming quality control (IQC), in-process quality control (IPQC) and final quality control (FQC). We use a computerized system to analyze statistical quality control (SQC) and build together with our customers the needed protocols to guarantee their satisfaction.

Tetro can produce daily reports regarding the quality control status and share them with our customers.

Laboratory

The Tetro laboratory was established in order to service the various needs of the other departments. For R&D, the laboratory acts as a tool in product and process development, in selecting materials including compounding and usage of composite materials. For QC the laboratory helps with material composition and functional properties, with incoming material checks and product life cycle analysis. It works closely with our regulatory team in order to perform many types of technical compliance testing.

Packaging is a key component of quality products. Tetro Development, Sourcing and Engineering teams work with customers to define and develop packaging solutions that protect the product during shipment, add value, are cost effective to buy and efficient for transportation and storage.
